STEAM is an educational approach to teaching and learning that uses Science, Technology, Engineering, the Arts and Mathematics as an access point for guiding student inquiry, communication, and critical thinking.
“STEAM” stands for Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts and Mathematics. It represents a multi-disciplinary initiative that promotes creativity and high levels of student engagement, as they perform a series of group projects that not only involve five school subject domains, but also makes them more relevant, creative, discovery-based and interesting for students.
STEAM aims to foster inquiring minds, logical reasoning, and collaboration skills.
At the English Montreal School Board we are proud to have announced plans to expand our very successful pilot project run of the STEAM program, touting it as the future of how to teach Science.
