Dear Parents/Guardians,
We had a fun and exciting month of October; from our Terry Fox run to pizza days and ending with our
Halloween festivities.
- Progress Reports: Progress reports will be issued, via Mozaik, on November 8th. Please
ensure you have set up your account to be able to view the report. Hard copies will not be
distributed to students. Parents can email ITHelp@emsb.qc.ca for technical support. - Parent/Teacher Meetings: Parent Teacher meetings will be held on Thursday, November
11th. Like last year, all meetings will be held virtually. You should have already received a link
from your child’s teacher to book your virtual meeting. Parents can also use this link to
schedule a meeting with specialists (Physical Education, Music, Science) by selecting the
appropriate teacher’s name. - Weather appropriate clothing: As the weather begins to get colder, please ensure your
child(ren) are wearing the appropriate clothing for outdoor play. This includes a jacket, hat,
and when necessary rain boots. Students must also have a change of shoes to wear inside if
they are wearing boots to school. All items must be labeled with the child’s name. Finally,
many students have to be reminded on a regular basis to wear their jacket when outside,
including dismissal. We ask that you speak to your child(ren) about the importance of
dressing warmly when outside. - Items from home: In an effort to minimize distractions and potential loss, students must
not bring in any items or toys from home (i.e. Pokemon cards, stuffed animals, etc). please
note that this includes cell phones. Items, particularly cell phones, will be confiscated from
students and returned at the end of the day. - Photo retakes & Sibling photos: Photos will take place on the afternoon of November
10th. - Proper mask wearing: Parents are reminded that students must wear their mask at all times
in the building as well as on the bus. Students can take a “mask break” of a few seconds
however they must not walk around without the mask and the break cannot be more than a
few seconds. Masks must also cover the child’s nose and mouth. Thank you for your
cooperation in discussing this issue with your child(ren). - Dress code: EBS has a colour code (blue bottom & white or blue top) which all students
must adhere to. This includes any sweater/hoodie, which also must not have large images or
logos. Moving forward, students will asked to remove , and keep in their locker, any
sweater/hoodie which does not meet dress code conditions. - Terry Fox: I am proud to announce that we were able to raise $2,498.70 for the Terry Fox
Foundation at our annual run on October 8th. Thank you to all the students who raised money
and ran their hearts out, M. Fortin for organizing the day, the parents for volunteering their
time and teachers/staff members for enthusiastically cheering the students on. - Halloween: We had a wonderful day celebrating Halloween. The kids, big and small, really
got into the spirit of the day. There were many fabulous and creative costumes. I’d like to
take this opportunity to thank our PPO moms who put together treat bags for all of our
students. Thank you for taking the time to help us celebrate the day.
