AMI-Québec – Young Carers (See Mental Health Resource Directory – A Compilation, General Section for full resource)
AMI-Québec is committed to educating parents, teachers, students, and the community at large about early detection of mental health issues, to avert the devastation that long-term mental illness can cause. They offer free public awareness and outreach programs. Their Young Carers program includes those under 25 who are affected by or care for a loved on who has a chronic illness, disability, mental health or substance use issue and/or problems related to old age or socioeconomical status.

Carers Canada
A national coalition dedicated to increasing recognition and support for caregivers. Through collaborative engagement, members work to build awareness and recognition of the role of caregivers and the challenges they face. Carers Canada leads federal advocacy initiatives and national awareness campaigns. A founding member of the International Alliance of Carer Organizations, Carers Canada is part of a global initiative championing caregivers’ rights.
Carers Canada is a priority program of the Canadian Home Care Association. The vision in forming Carers Canada is the creation of a society that recognizes, respects and values the integral role of caregivers for our health and social care systems and to our country’s economic well-being.

Proche aidance Québec
Brings together 124 community organizations that support more than 41,000 caregivers throughout Quebec. These organizations' mission is to improve the living conditions of caregivers by relieving the impoverishment and exhaustion they experience due to the illness, aging and/or disability of a loved one, whether a spouse, a friend, a sister or a child. They offer, among other things, counseling services, psychosocial support and respite.

Regroupement des aidantes et aidans naturels de Montréal
A regional non-profit organization founded in 1992 which contributes to improving the living conditions of caregivers, i.e. those who provide support, who provide care to a family member, friend or neighbor (father, mother, spouse, etc.). Their website explains various services, programs and offers tools to support caregivers, including young caregivers.

Siblings Canada
Their goal is to strengthen and empower siblings of people with disabilities to fulfill their changing roles as caregivers as they often outlive their parents. In addition to siblings, they also support siblings-in-law, cousins, and other second-generation caregivers.
Siblings Canada offers a wealth of information and resources. This ranges from providing a list on their website of caregiver resources in which caregivers can learn from other caregivers with similar experiences as well as resources located in Quebec to a resource library to taking a free online course about how to build financial security for—and with—their siblings with disabilities.
Siblings Canada also has a program called the Chosen Family. The mission of the Chosen Family program is to reach out to LGBTQ+ individuals who are close caregivers of elders‧ to support them, educate them about existing services, and help them develop knowledge that will be useful in their role.

Becoming a caregiver can be learned! Is a training and support program designed for people whose are helping a loved one who either has been diagnosed with Alzheimer’s or a related disease in the last 24 months.
