Elizabeth Ballantyne offers an enriched environment with programs and activities that meet the interests of almost every child. Parents must be eligible to receive a Certificate of Eligibility for their child.

The registration dates for the 2024-2025 school year, are as follows:

If you already have a child registered in our school, please make an appointment during the sibling registration dates indicated above.

To register for Kindergarten, We ask that you book an appointment using our online reservation system through the following link.

Online Kindergarten spot reservation links will be available on January 29, 2024, at 7 a.m.

Once you have registered online, the school will be contacting you to schedule an appointment to complete the registration.

Parents who are interested in registering their child(ren) at École Elizabeth Ballantyne School should contact us for information about eligibility and programs. East Hill School also registers new students throughout the school year, however, acceptance depends on classroom availability and area of residence.

All students registering for the first time are required to provide the following documents: 

  • birth certificate;
  • proof of citizenship of the parents;
  • a medicare card; proof of residence; 
  • a most recent report card (if applicable); 
  • and vaccination records;
  • Registration Form

You will fill out the application forms at the school for the Certificate of Eligibility for English instruction.  Under the Charter of French Language, the COE will be granted for children who did the majority of their elementary or secondary studies in English in Canada or whose mother, father or sibling did their majority of elementary studies in English in Canada.  This criteria excludes studies completed in the Quebec Private School system.  If you are coming to Quebec on a Work or Study permit (permits must be provided), you must do the application for the Certificate of Eligibility at the English Montreal School Board located at 6000 Fielding Av., Montreal, Québec, H3X 1T4.  After you have gone to the School Board, you may then come to the school to complete the registration with all the documents mentioned above.

If you do not have a Certificate of Eligibility

In order to qualify for English Instruction in Quebec Public Schools, students must meet certain eligibility criteria under the Charter of the French Language as set out by the Quebec government.

If you have a Certificate of Eligibility

You must bring the following documents with you to register your child. Originals of these forms can be brought to the school:

  • Long Version Birth Certificate (showing both parents' names)
  • Immigration papers (required if not born in Canada)
  • Certificate of Eligibility
  • Proof of residence (lease and driver's licence/utility invoice etc.)
    Required only if child was born outside Quebec
  • Citizenship of parent
  • Child's most recent report card (for grades 1 to 6)
  • Vaccination booklet
